BORGWARNER SUPPLIES 7 OF WARD’S “10 BEST ENGINES 2011”

Auburn Hills, Michigan, January 19, 2011 – The BorgWarner Engine Group supplies systems and components for seven engines named in Ward’s “10 Best Engines 2011,” including the: 

  • BMW 3.0-liter N55 Turbocharged DOHC I-6 (BMW 335i)
  • BMW 1.6-liter Turbocharged DOHC I-4 (Mini Cooper S) 
  • Chrysler Group 3.6-liter Pentastar DOHC V-6 (Dodge Avenger and Jeep® Grand Cherokee)
  • Ford 5.0-liter DOHC V-8 (Mustang GT) 
  • General Motors 1.4-liter DOHC I-4/111 kW Drive Motor (Chevrolet Volt)
  • Volkswagen 2.0-liter DOHC I-4 Turbodiesel (Jetta TDI) 
  • Volvo 3.0-liter Turbocharged DOHC I-6 (S60)

These notable engines utilize one or more of BorgWarner's leading technologies including turbochargers, engine timing systems, variable cam timing (VCT) systems with Cam Torque Actuated (CTA) technology, spark plugs, glow plugs, electric air pumps and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) coolers and tubes.

Nominations for the award are limited to engines that are available in regular-production, U.S. models on sale no later than the first quarter of 2011 with a base price of no more than $55,000.
