Job purpose

Lead the development and management of certain global/regional product strategies designed to leverage the buying power of BW collectively and synergistically maximize opportunities to optimize supplier performance, reduce total supply costs, and meet our technology expectations across the board. supply chain. Ensure that the commodities plan complies with the strategies designed. Negotiate contracts with key suppliers. Provide global leadership in the communication, implementation, coordination and compliance of commodity strategies.

Key responsibilities

  • Establish processes and systems that make it possible to generate, share and negotiate strategic purchases, ensuring the proper functioning of the direct and indirect purchasing areas.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in the development of suppliers of materials and services, as well as in the evaluation of their quality and reliability.
  • Prepare the annual work plan to define the strategies to be carried out to comply with the objectives of the buyers and thus comply with the GSM management strategy.
  • Support buyers in product or service negotiations
  • Implement strategies to obtain price reductions and improvements in purchasing conditions for materials, products and services.
  • Comply with the buyer development plan.
  • Deliver budget, forecasts, and LRP for the purchasing function.
  • Ensures cost and performance objectives in line with existing strategies.
  • Drives cost reductions within the supply chain, collaborates with internal engineering and program management teams on VA/VE activities.
  • Lead the sourcing process for new projects, ensuring parts are sourced on time, and within allowable cost.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree in International Trade, Industrial Engineering or Business Administration or other related.
  • Time of experience in a similar position: 10 or more years of experience.
  • Required Technical Knowledge: Ability to supervise a group of mid-level or senior purchasing professionals and/or Entry Level Manager, strong functional and technical skills.
  • Other requirements: University Diploma in a related discipline or equivalent experience, C.P.M. Certified Purchasing Manager (certification preferred).
  • Bilingual: English / Spanish Proficient
  • SAP experience preferred but not required
