Job purpose

The Master Scheduler will ensure production planning is scheduled to achieve on time shipments, optimizing Finished Goods inventory, resources, and manufacturing cost. Additionally, the Master Scheduler will develop and maintain the production planning process (build and ship schedule) and ensure proper communication to the production floor and organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Management of customer schedules to create daily/weekly production plans assuring optimization of resources and inventory.
  • Establish effective communication throughout the organization, assuring requirements for finished goods production is understood and met.
  • Communicate production requirements using SIOP and SA76P; manage internal manufacturing work orders.
  • Manage part level days-on-hand (DOH) inventory and ensure accurate perpetual inventory records.
  • Monitor visual production instruction tool throughout the day to evaluate manufacturing adherence to schedule. Monitor capacity versus demand short and long term and capture action plans (from OPS, HR, ME, IE, etc.) for gap closure. Manage transactional logistics and eliminate any need for premium freight.
  • Process ECN and MPS changes to maintain purchase records in the MRP system.
  • Work closely with the production teams to determine long term strategic plans.
  • Manage enterprise resource management systems and coordinate with other areas as needed.
  • Oversee all production planning/scheduling activities.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline required; planning/scheduling emphasis preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in Materials Scheduling in a manufacturing environment; APICS preferred.
  • 5+ automotive industry experience required.
  • 5+ year’s customer and supplier relations management.
  • AIAG MMOG.
  • MRP/ERP Systems.
  • Continuous Improvement.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in: MRP systems (Vanguard), MS Office (Excel, Word, PPT), etc.
  • SAP experience preferred.
