DUTIES: BorgWarner Transmission Products LLC seeks a Global Engineering Manager, Process, Methods & Tools based out of our office at 3800 Automation Avenue, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. This is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. This position requires international and domestic travel, as needed, up to 10%.
Act as organizational champion to drive global ASPICE process capability through adoption of the BorgWarner Electronics Development Framework (EDF) and associated tools. Lead the global Process, Methods, and Tools team; responsible for hiring, training and deploying the right talent to achieve project team, functional and regional goals. Work closely with global engineering teams to identify and adopt best practices across regions, products and projects. Ensure process adherence for all new development programs by assigning PMT Engineers to coach and mentor project teams. Institutionalize process and toolchain lessons learned from projects. Develop metrics to monitor process and tool effectiveness and drive continuous improvement. Represent Drivetrain Systems in the enterprise EDF work group and governance forums. Develop training curriculum and transfer knowledge about the BorgWarner EDF process, roles, and responsibilities to the engineering teams. Collaborate with enterprise IT to develop and implement corporate standard tool set strategies. Among other duties.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Management and ten years of experience in Job offered or related. Experience must include: Five years of leadership experience, including management of remote teams; experience with Systems Engineering, Software Engineering and/or Software Quality Assurance; experience with and leadership of ASPICE based systems development methodology; experience with Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and Cybersecurity standards (ISO 21434); experience with embedded control software and software development processes; and experience with using one or more tools for developing complex systems and products such as Lifecycle Management, Requirements Management, Configuration Management, etc.
International and domestic travel required, as needed, up to 10%.
