Job purpose 

The assembly operator will provide support for the production of High Voltage Battery systems for commercial vehicle applications at either the Warren, MI or Hazel Park location.

  • The Assembly Operator will assemble battery systems.  

  • Assembly may require the use of simple hands tools with/without power or special assembly tools    

  • The work is performed on an assembly line

Key responsibilities 

  • Check the equipment for proper functioning and reporting deviations or quality defects. 

  • Monitor the operation of the production equipment.  

  • Ensuring compliance with production parameters. 

  • Maintenance and cleaning of equipment, work area and facility based on 5s standards. 

  • Must be able to frequently lift to 30 lbs.   

  • Ability to frequently bend, reach or twist.  

  • Prolonged standing or walking 

What we’re looking for 

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.  

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive. 

  • Interest in electrical engineering processes. 

  • General experience in production processes. 

  • Detail orientated and consistent.  

  • Must be able to work on a team.  

  • Work independently, accurately, and precisely 

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

This position will adhere to Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices and training as outlined in the BorgWarner PTC Safety Policy Manual, which includes the use of equipment, protective devices, or clothing that the employer requires. This individual will work in manners that stress the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses. He/she must take every precaution reasonable in the given circumstance for the protection of themselves and coworkers. In addition, he/she is responsible for reporting all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations, incidents, or occurrences to the immediate supervisor.
