BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individuals to join as Systems Engineers  as part of the systems engineering competency at our new San Luis Potosi location

The PowerDrive Systems business unit is responsible to develop hybrid and full electric vehicle solutions for our customers. The systems engineering team is looking for people with a range of knowledge and skills and a background in vehicle propulsion systems. Ideal candidates will have expert knowledge of vehicle electrification products.

We are looking for motivated people who have experience in some of these systems engineering activities

• Negotiating / writing / decomposing and disseminating technical requirements to components.
• Managing, structuring and configuration managing requirements in formal tools eg. Polarion, Doors etc.
• Defining system level architectures, scope and boundaries using formal modeling tools. Eg. Enterprise Architect.
• Driving technical development of system functionalities with cross-functional development teams, component leads and customers.
• Managing change request, performing effort estimations and planning and scheduling tasks. Experience with agile methodologies is a plus.
• Performing configuration management of work products and releases
• Planning, scheduling and coordinating team activities to meet agreed deliverables
• Performing root cause analysis of issues using structured approaches such as 5Y’s, fishbones etc.
• Supporting FMEAs, design reviews and customer presentations for the defined areas of responsibility
• Creation of physics based systems models, to simulate and analyze thermal, efficiency or loss requirements.

We are particularly interested if you also have product/technical knowledge in these some of these areas

• Inverters, traction motors, DC/DC converters, onboard chargers, motor control concepts

What you must have

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar.
• Self-motivation, accountability and a ‘can do’ attitude.
• Alignment with the BorgWarner beliefs. Integrity, inclusion, excellence, responsibility, collaboration.
• Strong English language, verbal and written skills
• The ability to do limited travel for training, customer meetings and to support test trips. (<10%)
