Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer  

Reports To: Engineering Supervisor

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Champion all aspects of the ten (10) sintering furnaces, one (1) endothermic generator, and the carrier finishing cell (CFC).
  • Apply continuous improvement methods, such as Lean Manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot problems encountered within current processes, equipment, and operations and provide solutions.
  • Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures.
  • Evaluate manufacturing process to generate cost reduction opportunities and complete actions to reduce costs or improve OEE.
  • Be an active change agent.
  • Champion and perform the necessary duties for the GSSF Safety Management System.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Process or Manufacturing focus preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ related work experience required; 3+ years within a manufacturing environment (primary operations, machining, fabrication, automation, assembly, vision systems) preferred.
  • Experience in the automotive industry preferred.
  • Employment record demonstrating evidence of manufacturing process implementation and improvement, followed by successful process performance.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing process and equipment, such as automation, and secondary operations.
  • Strong leadership, personnel, production, and change management skills.
  • Recognized ability to partner with operations management.
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing required.
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and a high energy level.
