Job purpose 

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Validation Test Development EngineerThe Validation Test Development Engineer will manage the Validation Process activities during the product design cycle from product concept to production launch. 

Key responsibilities 

  • Design of automated test systems, hardware, and software 

  • Utilize National Instruments PXI based hardware and software systems for tester development. 

  • Applications of said test systems for Hybrid Vehicle and Electric Vehicle applications  

  • Manage critical path timing issues to ensure on time test development completion 

  • Responsible for requirements analysisDevelop validation test procedures using success-based test methods, extended life test methods, test to failure test methods, and overstress test methods 

  • Analysis of test data and comparison to requirements 

What we’re looking for 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Computer Science Engineering 

  • Entry level experience in engineering laboratory / test environment 

  • Priority given to those with experience in power inverters, converters and chargers 

  • Demonstrated on the job professional and technical competence 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 

  • Be responsible and capable of self-direction 

  • Strong leadership skills, driving self and organization to improve performance 

  • Collaborative, team player, and display a high level of maturity 

  • Likes challenging problems with strong problem-solving skills 

  • Customer focused 

  • Possess excellent technical knowledge and skills; be highly motivated. 

  • Familiarity with test equipment: i.e. DMM, ARB, Power Supply, oscilloscopes, generators, and etc. 

  • Experienced in design of automated test systems, hardware and software preferred 

  • Knowledge of Electrification automotive applications preferred 

  • Experienced in using PXI hardware test platforms preferred 

  • Experience with controls type software, Labview, Teststand, etc. preferred
