BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Functional Safety System Engineer as part of the systems engineering competency at our Bascharage, Luxembourg or Nuremburg, Germany technical centers.

The Functional Safety System Engineer will be responsible for customer safety requirements management, translation of customer safety requirements in to detailed product requirements, supporting safety-analysis and compliance testing for power electronics inverter.

The engineer will be part of a multi-cultural, multi-disciplined product development team working on projects involving multiple locations.

The Functional Safety System Engineer will be responsible for customer safety requirements management, translation of customer safety requirements in to detailed product requirements, supporting safety-analysis and compliance testing for power electronics inverter.

The engineer will be part of a multi-cultural, multi-disciplined product development team working on projects involving multiple locations.

EXPECTED QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Masters or Engineering degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics
• 3 + years of experience in Automotive Electronics Control Units
• 1 + years of experience with of Automotive High-Voltage Power Electronics systems.
• Knowledge on ISO26262 system development process
• Knowledge of requirements elicitation, analysis, definition, and management and experience with requirement management tools and development processes models like A-SPICE.
• Experience on safety analysis (SFMEA, FTA, FMEDA, SW Freedom from Interference)
• Good foundation knowledge of both hardware and software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language. German is an asset.
• Organized and structured work-style and attention to detail 
• Ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively. This requires a good systems understanding of the involved Hardware, Software and customer use-cases.
• Travel 5% required
• Experience with the below tools is a plus:
  • Requirement management: Doors, Polarion
  • Test tools:  Vector CANAPE, CANOE
  • Development:         Matlab, Simulink
