Job purpose
A Component Release Engineer (CRE) is responsible for the design and release of components that are used in conjunction with each other within an assembly to meet the overall performance requirements of a product. The CRE works within the Driveline Engineering organization in collaboration with the Product Engineers, CAD Designers and CAE Engineers.
The CRE must be capable of completing work requests from the Product Engineer to meet the defined program performance requirements and timing. The engineer must also request design and analysis work from the CAD and/or CAE team members while working simultaneously with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and suppliers to achieve component release.
Key responsibilities
What we’re looking for
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of related engineering work experience required
Experience in powertrain, driveline and/or 4WD systems is preferred
Experience and/or training in the development and maintenance of DFMEAs is required
Experience and/or training in Root Cause Analysis is preferred
Experience and/or training in APQP is preferred
Experience and/or training in DFM/DFA is preferred
Manufacturing and assembly process knowledge is preferred
Self-directed/self-motivated
Excellent drive for results with the ability to coordinate projects from start to completion
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Project)
TeamCenter
Root Cause Analysis and/or 8D Problem Solving tools
