This position is located at BorgWarner’s Battery Plant in Hazel Park, Michigan.

BorgWarner Drivetrain and Battery Systems is currently looking for a “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as an Human Resources Intern. Must be able to work 20-30 hours a week while enrolled as a full-time student.

In this role, the HR Intern will be primarily responsible for the support of the administration and coordination of HR projects/activities and is the first interface for employees. The HR Intern will be given exposure to different areas of HR and will be presented with opportunities to contribute to local and global HR projects, recruiting efforts, and other HR activities as directed for employees in Hazel Park, MI.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in database management, analysis, and business metrics reporting for HR balanced scorecard.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and other first-day requirements
  • Provide first level of assistance to employees in a timely effective manner.
  • Provide assistance in recruiting activities.
  • Provide support for the payroll process.
  • Assist in the planning and administration of employee engagement events and initiatives.
  • Benchmark HR practices and make recommendations on process improvement.
  • Assist and coordinate with DE&I activities.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned or required.

What we’re looking for

  • Undergraduate/Graduate full-time student attending an accredited university
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
